TSA lock operation

Always keep your suitcase safe

The TSA lock (TSA007 or similar model) used on all ONYX Journey suitcases is a dual TSA lock, designed to keep your luggage secure during travel while allowing customs to inspect your suitcase without damaging the lock.

Here is a detailed explanation of how to use the double TSA lock:

STEP 1: Set combination (if applicable)

Check to see if your ONYX Journey case is equipped with a combination lock. If so, you will find the reset button on the side or bottom of the lock. Turn the numbers on the lock to the factory setting, usually 0-0-0. Press and hold the reset button with a pen or small tool and turn the numbers to your desired combination. Release the reset button and test the combination to make sure it works before locking your case.

STEP 2: Pack your suitcase

Pack your luggage and make sure everything is well organized
and safely placed in your ONYX Journey case.

STEP 3: Locking the TSA lock

Turn the numbers to any position to lock the lock. Make sure the lock is locked properly before starting your journey.

STEP 4: Open TSA lock

The unique thing about the double TSA lock is that it has two access mechanisms: a combination for the suitcase owner and a special TSA key access for airport security.

To open your ONYX Journey case yourself, use the combination you have set. Dial the numbers to your combination and pull the lock open.

NOTE: Grant access to Customs

If a TSA agent needs to inspect your bag, they can use their special TSA key to unlock the lock through the keyhole without damaging the lock. When checking your bag at the airport, make sure the TSA security log is visible on the lock so that customs officials know they have access to the lock if needed.
